VanderPlaats, Ruth Ann Ruth Ann Vander Plaats, age 76 of Venice, Florida, formerly of Zeeland and White Cloud, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2006. Ruth Ann was born on July 30, 1929 in Zeeland to Benjiman and Elizabeth (Poest) VeneKlasen and married Jason Vander Plaats on April 28, 1949 in Zeeland. Ruth Ann and Jason had owned and operated Jays Restruant and Zelland and moved to the White Cloud area in 1986 where she owned and operated Loves Resort on Diamond Lake for 10 years until her move and retirement to Venice, Florida. She was a member of the Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Lizabeth Vander Plaats of Cherokee, North Carolina; Michael Vander Plaats of West Lafayette, Indiana; Laura Finch of Pendleton, Indiana; Jay Vander Plaats of Zeeland; her brothers, Jack VeneKlasen of Grand Rapids; Phil VeneKlasen of Grand Rapids; her sisters, Alice Bos of Holland; Pat DePree of Carmel, California; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jason. Funeral services were held on April 1, 2006 at the White Cloud United Methodist Church 1125 Newell Street White Cloud, Michigan.
