Ryan Lee Carlson, age 31, of White Cloud passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022, following injuries sustained from an automobile accident. Ryan was born on August 14, 1990, in Grand Rapids to Noel Phillip and Christine Marie (Balcer) Carlson and married Katherine Lagendyk on August 11, 2018 in Grant. Ryan was a Lineman Apprentice for Newkirk Electric in Muskegon, was a member of the Electrical Workers Union Local #876, and took great pride in all his work. Ryan loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors, helping others, and caring for his family especially his 2 young boys. He had a strong faith and was a member of the Reslife Church in Big Rapids. Ryan lived every day to the fullest and will be missed for his famous bear hugs. He is survived by his loving wife, Katherine; sons, Kash Phillip Carlson and Leo James Carlson; father, Noel (Marlene Gadson) Carlson; mother, Christine Marie Lund; brother, Patrick Phillip (Caitlin Crothers) Carlson and their children Peighton, Roe Ryan, and Juni Bliss Carlson; grandparents, Judy Carlson and Roger Balcer; many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ellen Jane Huizinga and grandfather, Phillip Carlson. He is also survived by Katherine's family, her mother and father, Marylou (Dean) Stephens and James Lagendyk; her brothers and sisters, Carrie (Mike) Ford, James (Allison) Lagendyk, Sarah (Jake) Griffes, and Jon (Payton) Lagendyk; many nieces and nephews; and her grandmother, Louise Wilcox. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at 1 PM at the Reslife Church in Big Rapids (14734 215th Ave Big Rapids, MI 49307). Visitation will be held at the church 2 hours prior to the service starting at 11AM.
