Sally J. Durham, age 63 of Fremont, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 at her home following a long illness. Sally was born on October 2, 1952 in Fremont to William and Jean (VanOs) Ryswick. Sally graduated from Fremont High School in 1970 and later graduated from Ferris State College with a medical assistant degree. Sally met and married Charles Durham on June 25, 1976 in Fremont. Sally had worked as a medical secretary for many years at various medical institutions including Pine Medical Health, Gerber Memorial Hospital and Newaygo County Mental Health in White Cloud. Sally had also been a secretary at the Fremont Public Middle School and Quest School. Sally enjoyed her cats and dogs and spending time at Lake Michigan, but truly treasured being a Mother to her children and being a grandmother to her grandson. Sally is survived by her husband of 40 years, Chuck of Fremont; her children, Jen (Rich) McDermott of Ecorse, Michigan; Sheila Durham of Zeeland; Carly (Casey) Bruins of Zeeland; her grandson, Kalladyn Bruins; her brother, John (Sandy) Ryswick of Fremont; her sisters, Nancy (Bing) Cornett of Fremont; Carol Gillett of Melbourne, Florida; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Durham of Fremont; many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-laws, and brothers-in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jean Ryswick and her father-in-law, Charles H. Durham.
