Sally R. Wendt, age 86 of Newaygo, formerly of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 at her home in Newaygo following a decline in her health. Sally was born on February 26, 1937 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to Roald and Melva (Sullivan) Peterson and later married Donald Wendt on May 28, 1960 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Sally had worked for IBM in the patent department for 50 years in various states across the country but most of her time was spent in Rochester, Minnesota. Sally enjoyed spending time with her family, her pets, watching wildlife from her home and enjoyed a nice single malt. Sally is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald of Newaygo; her daughters, Patricia Wendt of Newaygo; Julie (David) Wendt of St. Paul, Minnesota; her grandsons, Luke and Ben Stuttgen; her sister, Christine (Dan) Rice of Minnesota; Gregg Peterson of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews. Sally was preceded in death by her sister, Judith; her brothers, Steven and Jeffery Peterson. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place.
