Samantha Jo Stokkers suddenly departed this world September 19, 2023. She was born September 28th, 1986 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Samantha was a loving mother to two children and a person whose passion and energy was infectious. She loved the color pink, had an eye for fashion and was hilarious. Her smile was radiant and her laughter was full of joy. Her charm came naturally and she lit up any room she stepped foot into. Samantha had a lot of challenges she always fought hard to overcome. We are reassured that she is now at peace in the Lords kingdom and no longer experiencing earthly pain. Samantha graduated from Grant High School and had her first child in 2005. She was an exceptional server at various different restaurants and knew how to talk and charm others. She had her second child, a daughter in 2008. Samantha also battled drug addiction, and though her love and passion for life was powerful, the grip drugs have on people was stronger. Samantha completed many treatment programs in her life, and this strengthened her bond with God. She is no longer fighting every second and is welcomed into the arms of the Lord to roam His kingdom. She is preceded in death by her father, Kevin VanSingel, her maternal grandmother Josephine Stokkers, her maternal grandfather, William Stokkers, paternatal grandmother, Marilyn VanSingel; her brothers Jonathan Barry and Deverin Simons. She is survived by her children, Ethan Flynn and Olivia Szabo-Hance, her mother Loraine Stokkers, her paternal grandfather Gary VanSingel, siblings Brian Thompson (Brittany), Justin Thompson, Heather Thompson, Richard Thompson, Nichole Bartram (Bruce), Beth Byma (Matt), Sierra "Diane" Thompson, and many nieces and nephews. She also is survived by several aunts and uncles. VISITATION : Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 2-3pm at Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel.
