Hawes, Sandra K. Sandra K. Hawes, age 58 of Fremont , passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003 at her home following a short illness. She was born on July 10, 1944 in Muskegon to Harry S. and Bertha L. (Sommers) OConnell and moved to the Fremont area in 1979 from Muskegon . She has been a dietary aid at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont for the 16 years and enjoyed crossword puzzles and collecting clowns statues. She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Darrell) Allan of Fremont; Eric (Terri) Hawes of Hesperia; Andy Hawes III and special friend Mandy of Fremont; Diane Hawes and special friend Matt of Fremont; Jeffery (Sue) Hawes of Grant; Rodney (Debbie) Hawes of Fremont; Todd (Karon) Vaughn of Fremont; her former husband, Andrew Hawes Jr. of Fremont; 9 grandchildren; her sisters, Sue OConnell and special friend Roger of Hesperia; Margaret (Dale) Wright of Muskegon; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Sandra was preceded in death by her son, John on July 13, 1997 ; a brother, Bernard OConnell and sister, Patricia Barker. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 27, 2003 from the Crandell Funeral Home-Fremont Chapel with Chaplain Judy Corey presiding with interment in the Sherman Township Cemetery .
