Sandra Lee Murphy left this world for the next on January 3rd, 2015 after a long illness, surrounded by family and love. Sandra was born on January 8, 1942 in Muskegon to Ralph and Eileen (Smith) Frein and later married Carl Murphy in 1969. Sandra had worked at Wolverine Worldwide for over 10 years and had also been a homemaker. Sandra will always be remembered for her love of her family, Bingo, her belief in feeding everyone that walked through the door, long hours of sewing and gardening, her insistence on being called Grandma by many young non-relations, and her love for dogs of all sizes Sandras family will always appreciate everything she has done for them over the course of her perpetually busy life; hours of cooking for family events, dozens of outfits for horse shows and weddings, cold nights watching high school football games, and countless hours of babysitting, to name a few. She is survived by her husband, Carl Murphy, her children, John (Laura) Sullivan of Temperance, Michigan; Terri (Joe) Franze of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Wendy (Keith) Schultz of Jenison; Julie (Rob) Brooks of Sand Lake; Tammie (Adam) Bronkema of Fremont; Shannon (Ed) Whelan of Hesperia; Jim Murphy of Whitehall; 20 grandchildren; 10 of whom whose help was appreciated in raising; Tiffany, Brian, Anthony, Jacob, Joshua, Joeleen, Nathan, Holly, Michael, and Casey; and 6 great-grandchildren with 4 more on the way; sisters and brothers, Judy, Nancy, Martha, Betty, Ted, Richard (Maggie), Laurie, Daniel (Rene) and John;, along with a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Eileen Frein, and by three siblings; Robert, Kimberly, and Maryann. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2pm at the Fremont Christian Church, 10 E Elm Street Fremont Michigan with a VISITATION 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
