Sandra L. O'Grady, age 76 of Fremont, formerly of Jenison, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Mercy Health Partners – Mercy Campus in Muskegon. Sandra was born on November 18, 1942 in Grand Rapids to Robert Ross and Marjorie Janice (Stray) Schondelmayer and graduated from Godwin High School. Sandra later married Larry O'Grady on August 31, 1962 in Grand Rapids. Sandra later started work at the General Motors Company – 36th Street in the stamping and later inspection department until her retirement after 25 years. Sandra moved to the Fremont area in 1983 from Jenison and enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sandra is survived by her husband, Larry of Fremont; her sons and their children, Rob (Deb) O'Grady and Kim (Corey) Cook, Dirk, Jake and Nick of Kentwood; Mike (Michelle) O'Grady and their children, Brittney and Ryan of Rockford; her sisters, Sue (Mike) Thompson of Sacramento, California; Sheri (Dan) Daly of Royal Oak and their children, Elizabeth and Steven. She was preceded in death by her mother and step father, Marjorie (May 2018) and James (Oct. 2017) Smith; her father and step mother, Robert (2003) and Ruthe (1998) Schondelmayer. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date according to Sandra's wishes. Friends may consider memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan in memory of Sandra.
