Sarah G. Jones, age 80 of Fremont, passed away Friday at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Sarah was born on March 8, 1931 in Burnsville, North Carolina to Oscar Thomas and Pansy E. (Silver) Gibbs and moved to the Fremont area from Muskegon in 1968. Sarah married Willis Franklin Jones on December 31, 1966 in Muskegon and Willis preceded her in death in 1970. Sarah had been a real estate broker in Newaygo County for many years and had owned and operated her own real estate company for several years until her retirement in 1980. Sarah enjoyed gardening roses, her pets, traveling and cooking and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Sarah is survived by her children, Julie (Mike Tonkin) Jones of Fremont; John (Barbara) Jones of Fremont; her grandsons, Derek Jones, Kyle Jones and Cody Tonkin; her great grand son, Ira Segovia; her brother, Thomas (Juanita) Gibbs of Easly, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Edith Parrott, Julia White; Mary Wagnor. Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 6pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with a time of visitation with the family from 5-6pm at the funeral home. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Newaygo Medical Care Facility Patient Fund for memorial contributions in memory of Sarah.
