Scott D. Kocher, age 60 of Holton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 17, 2023. Scott was born on November 17, 1962 in Shelby, Michigan to Douglas and Marilyn (Eilers) Kocher. Scott graduated from Orchard View High School and later graduated from Muskegon Community College where he earned his Registered Nurses Degree. Scott had served in the United States Navy as a Corpsman until his honorable discharge in 1985. Scott moved to the Holton area in 2010 from Muskegon and had been an RN with Davita in Grand Haven, Muskegon and Fremont and was currently working at the Riverside Nursing and Rehab Center in Grand Haven. Scott enjoyed collecting comic books and was known for his hard work ethic, working many 16-hour days and simply enjoyed going home and grilling and a cold beverage when he finished his workday. Scott also enjoyed spending time with his cat Winston. Scott is survived by his brother, Steve (Lori) Kocher of Cedar Creek Township; Stacey (Chuck) Verhoeven of Holton; special girlfriend, Dawn Miller; nephew, Patrick (Niki) Huffman; niece, Holly Huffman. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Marilyn. Private family services will be held at a later date in Shelby where Scott will be laid to rest. Friends may consider memorial contributions to Noah Project Animal Shelter in Muskegon or St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital in memory of Scott.
