Sharon Jane (Jibson) Hawes, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility.

She was born on October 11, 1941, in Muskegon, Michigan to Lloyd and Margaret (Anderson) Jibson. Sharon graduated from Fremont High School in 1959.  She completed her education at Muskegon School of Business and also attended Ferris State University.

She was proud to say that she lived her entire life on the family farm in Sitka, Michigan.  In April of 1961, she married Harold E. Hawes.   Sharon was a devoted mother and grandmother.   Throughout her life she was active in 4-H, first as an exhibitor then as a leader and ended her involvement with 4-H as a member of the Historical Committee.  She was a member of Holton Methodist Church, Den Mother for Cub Scouts, and a Girl Scout leader.  She was an avid gardener and homemaker.  For many years she participated in Ceramic and Sewing Classes sharing her talents with her family. Sharon is survived by her children Fritz (Vicki) Hawes and Melissa Sovinski. Her grandchildren Levi (Shelby) Hawes, Adam (Taylor) Hawes, Maggie Sovinski and six great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother William (Donna) Jibson of Newaygo.  Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her Aunt Jeannette (Anderson) Wolbrink of Newaygo.  She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
