On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, Shirley Harmon Stroven of Palm Harbor, Florida and Fremont, Michigan moved along to the other side of the grave to be with her Heavenly Father. She was born Shirley Catherine Larsen in Grant, Michigan on March 15, 1924. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Lloyd Harmon and then her second husband Stan Stroven. Shirley is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Janet and Douglas Rasmussen of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Barbara and Raul Jimenez of San Antonio, Texas, and Margie and Brian Nyman of Steilacoom, Washington; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. Shirley loved the song, His Eye is on the Sparrow and I know He Watches me and Shirley lived her life with that assurance. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. There will be a private burial at the Danish Cemetery in Grant on the family plot. For a more lasting memorial, friends are asked to consider the Fremont United Methodist Church.
