Shirley "Shirl" Virgene Trudell, age 89, of Hesperia passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, in Hesperia. Shirl was born on November 8, 1933, in Fremont to Basil and Murial (Wambough) Arendsen and had been a bus driver most of her working years. She drove for the City of Grand Rapids and was the first woman to drive city buses in Grand Rapids. She later drove buses for the Grand Rapids School Systems. Shirl enjoyed woodworking, camping, slots at the casino, and sitting around the campfire with her grandchildren. Shirl is survived by her son, Randy (Kathy) Trudell of Hesperia; grandchildren, Valerie (Chris) Obenchain, Genie (Aaron) Karns, Nicole (Mike) Brown, Christy (Alex) Hornecker, and Shannon Trudell; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Evan, Christopher, Tyler, Zack, Brian, Xander,and Lauren; great great-grandchild, Jade; brother L.D.
