Obituary

Stanley L. Pfeiffer, age 80 of Fremont, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2014 at his home following a short illness. Stan was born on December 28, 1934 in Muskegon to Royal E. and Ione (Stark) Pfeiffer and later married Sandra Buresh on March 29, 1969 in Richmond, Michigan. Sandra preceded him in death on April 21, 2004. Stan has been a longtime resident of the Fremont area where he had been an independent insurance agent for over 40 years until his retirement. Stan had enjoyed living on Fremont lake, boating and fishing; had been an avid golfer; enjoyed traveling West to hunt with his brother-in-law. Stan was a Free and Accepted Mason where he had been Master of the Lodge and was a 32nd Degree Mason; was a member of the Saladin Shrine Club Clowns and had been a clown in West Michigan for many years. Stan has always been involved in his childrens activities and had been an assistant girls softball coach in Fremont for several years. Stan truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and talking with friends and even with strangers about his grandchildren and his dog, Butters. Stan was also a member of the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ in Fremont. Stan is survived by his daughter, Kendra Pfeiffer of Fremont; his son, Luke (Karla) Pfeiffer of Fremont; his grandchildren, Elise and Falon; his daughters, Marianne, Colleen, Kathleen, and Julianne and their families; his sister, Doris Vandenbrand of West Olive; his brother, Donald Pfeiffer of Grand Haven; several nieces and nephews and his dog, Butters. Stan was preceded in death by his brothers, Harley, Doug, Jack, Jim and Bill. A time of gathering to celebrate and remember Stan will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 4:30-6pm at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fremont. Private graveside services were held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Fremont Area Community Foundation for the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ in memory of Stan.
