Stanley C. Purcell, age 68, of Fremont died Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial. Stan was born on March 27, 1943, in Newaygo to Joseph Donald and Marguerite C. (Feller) Purcell and married Catherine Ann Gee on May 7, 1966. Stan was a Korean Veteran and had worked at Muskegon Piston Ring in Muskegon and Sparta Foundry. Stanley enjoyed flowers, gardening, and tractors. He liked a good bonfire, the show Gunsmoke, James Arness, Gene Autry, and Roy Rogers. Stan is survived by his loving wife Catherine; children, Timothy Conrad (Anne) Purcell of Holton, Teresa Ann (Lyle Russell) Purcell-Korkoskie of Fremont, Phillip Purcell of Fremont, Pamela Kay (Steven) Purcell-Purdy of Florida; 12 grandchildren, Timothy (Shannon) C. Purcell II, Matthew Purcell, Kaely Purcell, David Karry, Rachael Bailor, Amanda (Jacob) Chupp, Emily Korkoskie, Michael Korkoskie, Tyler Purcell, Johnathan Purcell, Connor Purcell, and Sienna Purdy; 2 great-grandchildren, Kane Chupp and Shyanne Purcell; sisters and brothers, Sheila (Robert) Gibson of Fremont, Patricia Culver of Newaygo, Denis Purcell of Fremont, Rita (Robert) Hallberg of Newaygo, Brian (Susan) Purcell of Newaygo, Kevin Purcell of Newaygo, Martina (James) Manor of Newaygo; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Amber Purcell. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at 2 PM at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont. There will be visitation 2 hours prior to the service starting at noon. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
