Steven Alan
Cook
March 29, 1953 – June 14, 2026
Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud
1:00 - 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
Steven Alan Cook, age 73, of White Cloud, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, surrounded by family after putting up one heck of a fight.
Steve lived life his own way. He found joy in the outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply spending time in nature. He loved music, especially playing his guitar, and if you knew Steve, chances are you've heard him sing a song or two. Saturday nights often found him at the Eagles in White Cloud, microphone in hand, singing karaoke and enjoying the company of friends.
To his family, he was much more than Steve—he was Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, brother, friend, and to many, simply "OMC" (Old Man Cook). He had a larger-than-life personality, a stubborn streak that kept him fighting until the very end, and a heart that cared deeply for those he loved. He welcomed people as family and made an impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Steve is survived by his children, Ryan (Shannon) Cook and Steven (Amy) Cook; his grandchildren, Damien (Ashtyn), Haylee (Arie), Nathan (Kailah), Aniyah (Tristan), Breahanna (Tyler), and Steven; his great-grandchildren, Waylon, Colbie, Malcom, Camille, and Nora; his brothers and sister; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Dorothy (Todd) Cook.
While our journey with Steve had its share of ups and downs, one thing never changed—he was loved. The memories he created, the stories he told, the songs he sang, and the laughter he shared will remain with us forever. His chair may now sit empty, but his presence will continue to be felt in every fishing trip, every campfire story, every guitar song, and every gathering where his name is spoken.
A memorial visitation will be held at Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud Chapel on Saturday, June 20 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Hospice of Michigan for the compassion, dignity, and care they provided to Steve and his loved ones during his final days.
Rest easy, OMC. Your fight is over, your pain is gone, and your song will live on in all of us.
