Steven A. Penland, age 56 of White Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital. Steve was born on September 26, 1957 in Fremont to Wesley E. and Barbara A. (Fessenden) Penland and later married Peggy Ann Abraham on September 20, 1984 in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan. Steve has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering with autos at his home, family gatherings and watching the History channel. Steve has worked at Steelcase at the Kentwood East Plant for the past 28 years in the core steel department. Steve was a member of the White Cloud Eagles, Aerie Post #4170 and the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555 Steve is survived by his wife of 30 years, Peggy of White Cloud; his son, Steven (Linsey) Penland Jr. of Commerce, Michigan; Raven (Hunter) Hull of Seward, Alaska; his sister, Yvonne (Kevin) Loucks of Jackson; his brothers, Leon Penland (significant other, Patsy) of East Jordan; Don (Linda) Penland of White Cloud; Mike (Sue) Penland of White Cloud; his mother-in-law, Doris Abraham of Alto, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Bob & Betsy Bulson of White Cloud. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Barbara and his father-in-law, James Abraham. VISITATION : Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 10-12 at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel.
