On November 29, 2018, surrounded by her family, Eileen Sue "Sue, Suzy, Suza" Dailey completed her final journey. In a moment of laughter, she chose to leave us and let that sound lift her up and set her free. Sue was born on January 6, 1957 in Fremont to James and Sandra (Parketon) Dailey and graduated from Fremont High School in 1975. She had a long hard journey battling diabetes, kidney failure, and heart failure. She fought a courageous battle, giving all that she could, living every moment to the fullest, kicking and screaming until the end when she won her battle. She was ready to quit treatments many times – she was tired, but she continued to fight for the love of her family and her fur babies who always bossed her around.
Sue would tell you she had no major accomplishments in life and that it was ordinary, trudging through each day handling whatever was put in front of her. But her family and friends would say that is not true. She did encourage and inspire many people – changing lives along the way, especially those in the dialysis unit she visited. Right down to the crazy socks she got everyone to wear.
She fought the battle and went through life with courage and grace, looking for humor and a reason to laugh whenever possible. Her free spirit allowed people to laugh at her antics and there were many – remember she loved to celebrate life!
She is survived by her 3 beloved siblings that meant the world to her, Tim (Sheri) Dailey of Grant; Mary (Wayne) Veenstra of Holton; Lee Ann (Todd) Lentner of Cedar Springs; Although she had no children, she was blessed with a "handful" of nieces and nephews who were like her own – Jason (Kelly) Dailey; Nichole Dailey; Heath (Leigh Ann) Warren; Jessica (Ryan) Dornbos; Lance (Kourtney) Veenstra; Amanda (Nick) Auw; great nieces and nephews, Sienna, Cameron, Macie, Jadyn, Ethan, baby Dornbos, Braydon, Kael, Reid, Kelsi, Aaron. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, her two fur babies that were at her side every step of the way – Sandy Dog and Lexi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Sandra Dailey and her brother, Perry Dailey.
