Susan Kay Cowles, 76, of Holton, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Susan was born April 25, 1949, the daughter of Albert and Wilma Barnhard. She was a simple woman. She enjoyed gardening and her animals. Most of all she loved her family. She was a strong-willed, loving, kind, down to earth woman who always saw the good in everyone. She will be deeply missed.

Susan is survived by: her children, Jason (Candi) Barnhard, Reagan Cowles, Brooke Cowles, and Justin Cowles; grandchildren, Alex, Mack, Mason, Alexus, Shayla, and Javin; brother, Art (Linda) Barnhard; sisters, Esther (Jim) Hansen, and Lois (Ken) Wolters.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Albert and Wilma; brothers, Stan and Lincoln; and sister, Maxine.

Cremation will take place and no public services are being planned at this time.
