It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Alice Strube, a cherished resident of Fremont, MI, who left us on Friday, May 22nd, 2026. Susan was born on January 5th, 1950 in Illinois to her parents, Howard and Millie Smith.

A dedicated Registered Nurse's Aide, Susan spent most of her life caring for others, demonstrating endless patience and empathy. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of bird watching, the captivating melodies of opera, and the stirring sounds of the symphony. Susan also had a penchant for buying jewelry, possessing a keen eye for beauty and intricacy.

Susan is survived by her spouse, Donald Strube, and her children: Lisa Strube, Jason (Tracey) Strube, Peter (Lacey) Strube, and Matthew (Nimfha Rizza Bonzo) Strube. Her legacy will continue through them, as they hold her memory dear in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Millie Smith, whom she is now reunited with in eternal rest.

A funeral service celebrating Susan's life will take place at Crandell Funeral Homes Inc, Fremont, MI, on Monday, June 1st, 2026, at 2:00 pm, officiated by Jim Straube. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation an hour prior to the ceremony, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, to pay their respects and share in memories. Following the service, a graveside service will be held at Lincoln Cemetery, White Cloud, MI, at 3:00 pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crandell Funeral Home - Fremont Chapel.
