Sylvia J. Hobby, age 70 of Twin Lake, passed away Thursday at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Sylvia was born on October 27, 1940 in Fremont to Ernest and Geraldine (Pratt) Burkett and has been a resident of the Twin Lake area for the past 50 years. Sylvia retired from Meijer in North Muskegon where she had been a sales associate in the deli department for several years. Sylvia had also been a waitress at Todds in Whitehall for several years. Sylvia is survived by her children, Sandra Kay (Jim) Tyler of Muskegon; Harry Hobby Jr. of Omaha; her mother and special friend, Geraldine Burkett and Leonard Kruszynski of Fremont; 6 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; her sister, Margaret Peg Schotts of Holton; her brother, Donald Burkett of Twin Lake; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Burkett and by a nephew, James Jimmy Schotts on November 4, 2010. VISITATION : Monday, December 20, 2010 from 12-2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday, December 20, 2010 at 2pm at the funeral home. INTERMENT : East Hesperia Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : To the Hobby family, c/o Crandell Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
