Terence "Terry" W. Lavin, age 63 of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 28, 2021 near Hesperia. Terry was born on July 6, 1958 in Muskegon to Viljo "Bill" and Marilyn (Farkas) Lavin and graduated from Fruitport High School in 1976. Terry moved to Hesperia from Muskegon in 1985 and was co-owner of the Hesperia Sport Shop and All Seasons Inn Motel in Hesperia which he and his brother, Jim, have owned and operated for the past 36 years. Terry was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the Michigan outdoors. If he wasn't working, he was in the woods or on the water or rivers. He was a great cook and had many fish fry's at the sport shop through the years for staff and customers. Terry was also a member of the Hesperia American Legion. Terry is survived by his son, Andrew Hafenbrack of Tempe, Arizona; his mother, Marilyn Deater of Muskegon; his sister and brothers as well as nieces and nephews; sister - Patti (Joe) Ohrling of Spring Hill, Florida and their daughter, Terri (fiancé, Nate) Ohrling; brother - James "Jim" Lavin of Hesperia and his children, Meagan (fiancé, Dallas) Lavin; Paige (Nick) Jibson; Chad Lavin; brother - Robert (Tammy) Deater of Oldsmar, Florida and their children, Alex Deater and Emily Deater; his stepmother, Ruby Lavin of Fremont. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Viljo Lavin; his stepfather, James Deater; and his sister-in-law, Mari Jo Lavin.
