Obituary

Terrence Terry W. Thomas age 66 of Fremont, passed away Friday, May 08, 2015 at his home following a long battle with Parkinsons disease. Terry was born on October 22, 1948 in Evanston, Illinois and later graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelors Degree. Terry met and later married Lynn Adams on May 31, 1975 in Decatur, Illinois and they moved to the Fremont area in 1991 from Grand Rapids. Terry had worked as the personnel director and purchasing agent for Keebler in Grand Rapids and later became a purchasing agent with Gerber Products until his retirement in 2002. Terry was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont and had been an avid hunter and fly fisherman, enjoyed woodworking and tinkering in his woodshop. Terry served in the United States Navy, first on the John F. Kennedy as a diesel mechanic and then later as a naval advisor in the Mobile Riverine Assault Forces during the Vietnam War. Terry is survived by his wife, Lynn of Fremont; his children and their children, Brian (Jamie) Thomas of Kalamazoo and their children, Faye, Owen, Ryann; Megan (Cliver) De Rioja of Iquitos, Peru and their son, Forest Rioja Thomas; Tim Thomas of Chicago; his brothers, David Thomas of Lake Bluff, Illinois; Patrick (Barbara) Thomas of Glenn View, Illinois; Tim (Carol) Thomas of Hayward, Wisconsin; George Thomas of Jefferson, Wisconsin; brothers-in-law, Tony (Elizabeth) Adams of Decatur, Illinois; Larry Adams of Decatur, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. VISITATION : Friday, May 15, 2015 from 4-7pm at the Crandell Funeral Home with ROSARY SERVICES at 7pm at the funeral home. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL : Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11am at the All Saints Catholic Church 500 Iroquois Street Fremont MI 49412 with military rites given at the church. INTERMENT : Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Fremont.
