Terry Franklin Arnold, a cherished member of the White Cloud, MI community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on Sunday, January 14, 1945, in Fremont, Michigan, Terry was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew him.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy Kay Arnold, and his children Michele (Clinton) Cook of White Cloud and Mark (Aimee) Arnold of Carson City. He was a proud grandfather to Ronica (Jason) Garrod of Grant; Hillary (Raquel) Veltkamp of Sparta; Timothy (Krista) Veltkamp of Sparta; Sydni (Jonathan) Ittner of Big Rapids; Quinn of Carson City; and Drew of Lansing. Terry also delighted in the lives of his great-grandchildren: Cohen, Laurel, Ainsley, Eleanor, Riley, Theodore, Julius, Madisyn, and Emberly. His sister, Nancy Hitts, along with several nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rachel Arnold, as well as his siblings, Richard Arnold, Wanda Jones, Betty Sark; and step -granddaughter, Taylor.
A 1963 graduate of White Cloud High School, Terry pursued his passion for barbering at college in Detroit. His career began at his brother’s barbershop, where he worked for a year before dedicating 47 more years to Brown's Barber Shop in Big Rapids. Terry's skilled hands and compassionate heart made him a beloved barber and friend to many in the community. Beyond his professional life, Terry was deeply engaged with his farm, where he found joy and purpose in caring for his cows and pigs after his long workdays. A man of faith and music, he was also a valued member of the Methodist Church Choir, where he shared his love for singing. Terry's life was a testament to hard work, love, and service to others, and he leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
