Theodore Thurman Cole, affectionately known as Ted, passed away peacefully at his home in Hesperia, Michigan, on Wednesday, July 8th, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on September 8th, 1939, in Muskegon, Michigan, Ted lived a life marked by dedication, family, and adventure.

Professionally, Ted was respected as a Supervisor at Consumers Power, where he worked diligently for 21 years. Prior to his tenure there, he successfully ran his own hardware business, demonstrating a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.

Ted is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Karen Cole, with whom he shared a life full of love and exploration. Together, they delighted in fishing, hunting, and traveling, spending cherished moments in the Upper Peninsula and Florida. Their marriage was a testament to a life well-lived, full of fun and joy. He is also survived by his children, Rick (Kari) Cole, Robin (John) Swanson, and Tom (Jeannie) Cole, as well as eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life. Ted leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and warmth that will forever be carried in the hearts of those who knew him.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Toddy and Ezma Cole, and Phyllis and Augie Miller, as well as his granddaughter, Kalyn Cole.
