Corbett, Thomas W. Thomas W. Corbett, age 72 of White Cloud, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2004 at his home following a short illness. He was born on January 8, 1932 in Grand Rapids to John and Ruth (Hasty) Corbett and later married Jeanne LaPonsie on May 7, 1970 in Chicago. Tom moved to the White Cloud area from Sparta in 1990 and had been a heating and cooling technician for Economy Heating in Grand Rapids until his retirement in 1994. Tom then continued as a heating and cooling technician independently in White Cloud for several years. He was a member of the White Cloud Eagles Aerie #4170, was an accomplished bass guitar player and especially enjoyed playing jazz; enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, his garden and was an avid reader. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jeanne of White Cloud; his children, Dennis S. (Cindy) Corbett of Grand Rapids; Dawn (Frank) Preston of Sparta; Georgann Corbett and husband, Ken Kort of Holland; Teri Ringler of White Cloud; Thomas W. Corbett II and special friend, Mari Sundell of Rockford; Toni (Joseph) Stoner of Grand Rapids; 15 grandchildren; several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Ann Rapheal; his grandson, Kenneth Rapheal; sister, Marge Breen; brother, Mort Corbett. Funeral memorial services were held on Sunday, September 19, 2004 from the White Cloud Eagles Aerie Post # 4170 with family and friends sharing memories of Tom.
