Thomas E. McDonald, age 82 of White Cloud, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Tom was born on April 4, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles David and Mary Amelia (Wadsworth) McDonald and later married Joan Carol Albright on November 17, 1962 in Wheaton, Illinois. Tom moved to the White Cloud area in 1968 from Chicago and had been a printer in the newspaper industry prior to retirement. Tom graduated from Ferris State University with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and Social Services and was a former member of the Alpha Sigma Chi Fraternity at Ferris State College. Tom enjoyed photography, playing euchre, listening to Scottish music and attending the yearly Scottish festival in Alma. Tom is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan of White Cloud; his children, Melinda D. (Sean) McDonald-Cueny of Mt. Pleasant; Julie Ann Cass of Grand Rapids; Candace Shea of Tennessee; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his son, Billy McDonald in 1988 and 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Following Toms wishes, cremation has taken place and private memorial services will be held at a later date. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the charity of the donors choice in memory of Tom.
