Thomas Tom S. Gabrielse, age 50 of Fremont, passed away Monday morning at his home following a long illness. Tom was born on June 18, 1954 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Richard and Idelle (Ruiter) Gabrielse. Tom moved to the Fremont area from Ravenna in 1985 and married Jodi Ensing on August 7, 1988 in Fremont.. He had been a plumber and pipe fitter with Local 174 for several years until his retirement. Toms first love, above all, was his love for the Lord and his second love was for his family. He was a member of the Resurrection Life Church in Newaygo where he was a member of the praise and worship team and active in the church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, the Michigan outdoors, and traveling with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Jodi (Ensing) Gabrielse of Fremont; his children, Tate, Kyla and Marielle Gabrielse all of Fremont; his parents, Richard and Idelle Gabrielse of Spring Lake; his mother and father-in-law, Keith & Marva Ensing of Fremont; his brother, Michael (Jane) Gabrielse of Spring, Texas; sisters, Linda Gabrielse of Grand Rapids; Laurel (Bruce) Edwards of Morganton, North Carolina; his grandmother, Annetta Gabrielse of Pella, Iowa; his sister-in-law, Lori (Ed) Cregg of Fremont; brother-in-laws, Mike (Amy) Ensing of Fremont; Kent (Andrea) Ensing of Zeeland; Lonn (Shellee) Ensing of Canby, Oregon; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and special friends. Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 7, 2004 from the Resurrection Life Church of Newaygo with Rev. Paul Ruzinsky presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Friends may consider the Thomas S. Gabrielse Childrens Education Fund or Resurrection Life Church of Newaygo Building Fund for memorial contributions in memory of Tom.
