Thomas Henry Vickers, a treasured father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in White Cloud, on Saturday, August 8th, 2026 at 90 years old. He was born on November 5th, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois to Jerome and Anna (Holoubek) Vickers. In 1941 his family moved to the White Cloud area, where he laid the foundation of hard work and a love of outdoor adventures. He graduated from White Cloud High School in 1954.
Thomas proudly served his country in the Army, having been stationed in Korea shortly after the conflict ended. After returning home, he resumed a long career as a millwright and maintenance worker with Gerber Products, in Fremont, which spanned 41 years, including his years in military service.
Surviving Thomas are his children whom he shares with his first wife of 25 years, Clara (Ashcroft) Vickers; Thomas (Dianne) Vickers of Winchester, KY; Cindy Leech of Muskegon, MI; Donna (Russell) Kipp of White Cloud, MI; his stepchildren Richard Sellers, Jr. of Pierson, MI; Ronald (Jill) Sellers of Rockford, MI; Tina Lamoreaux of Pierson, MI; and Gary Sellers of Pierson, MI. He will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren Travis (Becca), Spencer (Caylin), Cody (Lexi), and Sarah, and great-grandchildren Mason, Jackson, Cayden, Aiden, and Haddie. Additionally, Thomas is survived by his siblings, Harry (Lyn) Vickers of Montague, David Vickers of Virginia, Margaret Jahr of Fremont, Evelyn Fox of Whitehall, and his sister-in-law Carol Vickers of Florida. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 17 years, Janice Vickers; his father, Jerome Vickers; his mother, Anna Vickers; brother, Donald Vickers; and sister Betty Jahr.
Thomas was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. His enjoyment and love of nature were well known to all who knew him. His legacy and love for life will continue through the cherished memories shared by his family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Sherman Township Cemetery in Fremont, MI, on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Following the service, a reception will take place at Sherman Township Hall, Fremont, MI, at 2:30 pm, where family and friends can gather to celebrate and honor Thomas's remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Corewell Health Hospice in Thomas's memory. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud.
