Tim R. Peets, age 72 of Fremont, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at his home following a short illness. Tim was born on October 3, 1949 in Fremont to Howard Robert and Virginia Louise (Shaw) Peets and graduated from Fremont High School in 1967. Tim attended Ferris State College and received his Associates Degree in 1971 and then joined the United States Navy in 1972. Tim served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and later served in the United States Navy Reserve for 6 years. Tim married Connie Sue Knox on December 19, 1970 in Fremont. After Tim's naval service, Tim worked as a newspaper editor in Maine until 1974 and then returned to Fremont and took over the family business, Vincent Office Supply. Tim owned and operated Vincent Office Supply until 1986 and then later worked as a truck driver for MPH and most recently retired as a security guard at Gerber Products Company. Tim had been an Eagle Scout and had been Pack Leader of Cub Scout Troop #4139; was a member of the Fremont Christian Church where he had been a Deacon; was a 3rd generation volunteer firefighter for the Fremont Fire Department; enjoyed model train collecting; and skeet and competition shooting. Tim and his grandfather and father built a cabin in Cedarville, Michigan and Tim found great joy in spending time with family at his cabin and hunting for many years. Tim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Connie of Fremont; his children and grandchildren – Merridith L. Richardson of Fremont and her children – Isaac and Lucas Hesse; Abigail L. (Chris) Wadkins of Fremont and her children – James Whitten and Gracie Wadkins; Benjamin H. (Summer) Peets and his children – Dillan Peets; Cadence Peets; Brayden Frens; Audrey Frens; his grandson – Matthew (Myranda) Slosman; great grandchildren, Andrea, Wesley and Eli; many cousins. Tim was preceded in death by his daughters, Elizabeth Anne Peets in 1973; Jennifer Sue Peets in 1996; grandson, Avery Hesse; brother, Peter Peets; son-in-law, Bill Richardson.
