Timothy Scott Ranger, age 35 of Newaygo, passed away Saturday following a long fight with ALS. He was born on October 31, 1965 in Fremont and attended Newaygo Public Schools where he enjoyed basketball and football through his school days. Tim graduated from Newaygo High School in 1983 and joined the United States Marine Corps. After his service in the Marines, Tim worked at Wolverine Worldwide as a shipping and receiving clerk. He loved fishing, hunting and was an avid sports fanatic. Most of all Tim loved watching his kids grow. Tim is survived by his wife, Denise; his children, Christopher, Kenneth, Casey Ranger of Newaygo; his parents, Richard & Sherry Ranger of Newaygo; Barbara & Rick Little of St. Ste. Marie, MI; his sister, Michelle Perrin of Detroit; his uncles, Marv (Denise) Tjalma; Bob (Kay) Corlew; his aunt, Kay (Gordan) Myott; his cousins, Justin Tjalma; Tracy Williams; Kelly Marchetti; John Corlew. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 1, 2001 from the Newaygo United Church of Christ in Newaygo with military rites given by the United States Marine Corps at the Newaygo Cemetery.
