Timothy E. Sweany, age 61 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at his home following a lingering illness. Tim was born on September 19, 1949 in Winchester, Indiana to Therrel Leon and Lillie Marie (Thompson) Sweany. Tim moved to the Newaygo County area in 1969 and later married Sally Hirsch. Tim had worked as a millwright at the Campell Wyant Cannon Company in Muskegon for several years and later retired from Haworth. Tim had been a avid golfer and enjoyed flying airplanes and loved spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling them rotten. He was a member of the Newaygo Masonic Lodge and the Barryton V.F.W. Tim served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Tim is survived by his former wife, Sally Hirsch of Fremont; his children, Timothy M. Sweany of Grant; April (Andy) Keith of White Cloud; Tanya (Anthony) Richards of Fremont; his grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, Kenzie, Zane and Lillie; his sisters and brother, Theodora (Jerry) Snyder of Fremont; Tony (Mary Jo) Sweany of Virginia; Tamara (Jim) Romine of Big Star Lake, Michigan; his aunt, Mary (Cecil) Davis of Winchester, Indiana; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Therrel Sweany and his mother and step father, Lillie Willis and Paul Dave Willis and by his granddaughter, Destiny Rae Richards on April 13, 2006. VISITATION : Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11am at the Christ Lutheran Church in White Cloud with military rites given at the church. INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore, Camp Anna Behrens or Newaygo County Commission on Aging.
