Tommy Lee Clay, age 63 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids following a short illness. Tommy was born on April 3, 1945 in Los Angeles, California to Willie Lee and Mandy (Gilmore) Walker. Tommy moved to the Fremont and White Cloud area from Detroit in 1959 and graduated from White Cloud High School in 1964. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and traveling and had been a nurses aid at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility for many years until her retirement. Tommy also served in the United States Army. She is survived by her sons, Derek M. Clay of Tampa, Florida; Terry M. Clay of Zeeland; her grandchildren, Chelsea Madison Clay; Alexa Channel Clay; Taylor Amanda Clay; Simon Nimoy Clay; Joseph Benjamin Clay; her sisters, Shirley Hutchinson of Los Angeles, California; Geraldine Clay of Los Angeles, California; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
