Henry "Tony" Cooley Jr., age 88, of Newaygo, passed away on November 8, 2016, at Spectrum Health Services – Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Tony was born on January 28, 1928, in Chicago to Henry and Liela (Johnson) Cooley and married Sarah Lee Holmes on April 24, 1965, in Chicago. Tony enjoyed crossword puzzles, old western shows on TV, his motorcycle, and debating issues with family and friends. Tony proudly served his country during W.W. II in the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed studying his bible, sharing the Word, and was an active member of the Big Prairie Community Church.

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Sarah; children, Antionette (Trent) Jerricks of San Bernardino, California, Harry (Lydia) Stevens of Newaygo, Michigan, Susan Stevens of Fort, Worth, Texas, Adrienne (Michael) Mitchell of Chicago, Illinois, and Karen (Armund) Gordon of Muskegon, Michigan; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Classie Whitehead; sons, Larry "Lala" Cooley and Marc A. Lawrence.

Services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at the Big Prairie Community Church with Rev. Arnold Guikema presiding. There will be visitation with the family one hour prior to the service at the Church. Interment will be in Big Prairie Cemetery.
