Johnston, Uneta Belle Uneta Belle Johnston, age 89 of Fremont, formerly of Muskegon, passed away Monday, May 30, 2005 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Uneta was born on June 24, 1915 in Norwich Township, Missaukee County to Henry B. and Hazel (Force) Kern and later married Ginter V. Johnston in 1932. Ginter preceded her in death in 1972. Uneta was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Muskegon and owned and operated a snack bar at the Goodwill Store in Muskegon until the age of 80 when she retired. She was an accomplished organist, pianist and played the accordion and simply enjoyed music. She often played at dances with her family. She is survived by her children, Melvin D. Johnston of Manton; Joseph (Barbara) Johnston of Lake City, Michigan; Storm (Velma) Johnston of Toledo, Washington; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude E. Vanbrocklin and by her brothers, Forrest L. Kern and Clifford Kern. Funeral services were held on Friday, June 3, 2005 at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Pastor Ryan Counsell of the 7th Day Adventist Church or Muskegon presiding. Interment isin the Stitsville Cemetery near Lake City, Michigan. Friends may consider the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Fremont Building Fund for memorial contributions in memory of Uneta.
