Van Marcel "Bunny" Nadeau, age 74 of Fremont, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 29, 2022. Van was born on September 24, 1947, in Fremont to W.J. "Doug" and Violet (Baddis) Nadeau and graduated from Fremont High School in 1965. Van has been a resident of Fremont most of his life and married Judy Hallberg on January 2, 1971, in Newaygo. He had worked in the construction industry – building homes and later in the maintenance department at Gerber Products Company office complex. Van was a people person and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. He enjoyed the Michigan outdoors – hunting and fishing; old cars and attending car shows, auctions, and gaming. Van was known for his quick wit, and you knew he liked you if he gave you a hard time. Despite his ongoing health challenges, he never felt sorry for himself nor let it diminish his love of life. His family, faith and humor carried him through the hard times. Van was a member of the First Congregational Church of Fremont. Van is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Jeffery (Michelle) Nadeau; Vanessa (John) Nadeau-Doherty; 5 grandchildren, Brandon Nadeau; Britney (Zach) Brandt; Cassidy (Todd) Jones; Brantley Wilson; Kennidy Wilson; 5 great grandchildren, Camden Jones; Caylor Marcel Jones; Cullin Jones; Calliope Jones; Colton Brandt; his sisters, Yvonne King; Jane Ann Rottman; Vicki Hendrix; sisters-in-laws, Diane Nadeau, Sharon Wildoner; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins. Van was preceded in death by his parents, W.J. "Doug" and Violet Nadeau; his brothers, Max Nadeau, Rex Nadeau and Gary Nadeau; his brothers-in-law, Roger King, Arnie Rottman and Jim Wildoner.
