Velma Belle Buss, age 79, of Fremont passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at her home with her family by her side. Velma was born on June 1, 1939, in Genesee County Michigan to Elwood and Gladys (Price) Hester and married Charles Anthony Buss on July 10, 1977, in Illinois. Velma had been a Distribution Manager for McGraw Hill Publishing and enjoyed painting, crocheting, and knitting. Velma cherished her time with her family and loved animals. Velma is survived by her loving husband, Charles; children, Chuck (Dawn) Ruprecht, Dianna (Wayne) Davidson, and Anthony Buss; grandchildren, Adam Ruprecht, Amanda Ruprecht, Jennifer (Jay) Davidson, Patricia (Michael) Davidson, Jason Davidson, Michael Buss, and Victoria Buss; great-grandchildren, Emma, Hailey, Landen, Collin, and Annalise; brothers and sister, Franklin Hester, Jerry (Georgia) Hester, and Caroline Sue Judd; and many nieces and nephews. Velma was preceded by her brothers, Leslie Hester, Douglas Hester, and Elwood Hester; sisters, Irene Hawtin and Sherry Riley; and brother-in-law, Larry Judd. Funeral services will be held at 5 PM on Friday, February 22, 2019, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with Caroline Judd officiating. There will be visitation prior to the service from 3 – 5 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
