Velma L. Osburn, age 84 of Sand Lake, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Metron of Cedar Springs. Velma was born on September 17, 1927 in Grand Rapids to Dewey T. and Velma A. (Nelson) Alger and had retired from Westinghouse in Kentwood. She is survived by her children, James (Patricia) Osburn of AuGres, Michgian, Melinda (Robert) Wassenaar of Pierson, John (Kim Castine) Osburn of Cedar Springs, and Laura Anderson of Sand Lake; 7 grandchildren, Stacey Osburn, Melissa Osburn, Sherri Redman, Erin Anderson, Chad Castine, Amanda Dykstra, and Tiffany Castine; 1 great grandchild, Alixander Lambright; sister, Barbara Kuhns of White Cloud; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother and 2 step-sisters. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 2 PM at the Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud with visitation an hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Big Prairie Cemetey.
