Verelene Ella Anderson, age 68 of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of White Cloud, passed away October 21, 2015 in Phoenix. Verelene was born on November 26, 1946 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the oldest child to Raymond and Ruby Copeland and had been a leader and forerunner since her beginning. Verelene spent equal amounts of time between White Cloud and Phoenix, Arizona. She received her primary education from Percy L. Julian Elementary School and was a proud graduate of White Cloud High School in 1964. She attended Phoenix College to receive a certification in nursing and later in life pursued her education in the business programs at Muskegon Community College and Jordan College. At the age of 16, Verelene met her first love Jesus Christ. It was then at a revival at the White Cloud Church of God in Christ she was saved and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. Through her love for Jesus, she served with a glad heart in whatever capacity her hands found. She enjoyed praising God in the dance. She had a smooth kick in her dance that no one was able to mimic. Her praise was her weapon and she praised God with all she had at all time. Throughout her tenure as a servant of the Lord she held many positions including head usher, choir member, choir director, youth leader, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, Pastors Aide, kitchen staff and prison ministry worker to name a few. In 1983, she helped her father begin Temple Pentecost Church of Jesus Christ. She was a licensed missionary in 1984 under her father, the late Pastor Raymond Copeland. At the age of 12, Verelene met the second love of her life, Carl Dean Anderson Sr. On January 17, 1965 they were joined in holy matrimony and to this union four children were born, Carl Dean Jr., RayElla Patrice, Ruby Glodeen, and Verelene Chkwna. Verelene was a proud military wife. Carl and Verelene served in the United States Army family for 12 years. Upon honorable discharge, the family settled in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1986, the Andersons relocated to White Cloud, Michigan. There Verelene was employed with Gerber Products Company as a telephone nutritionist until her retirement in 2006. In Michigan, she joined the Peoples Baptist Church (now known as Glory of Latter House Ministries) She remained active in the Sunday School Department where she served as Sunday School Superintendent till she relocated back to Phoenix in 2007. She was also head usher and was lovingly known for the ways she summoned respect from the young people At the time of her transition, she was a part of the Redeeming Grace COGIC family. She served in the Sunday school department and helped with the youth. She was also a teacher for the annual Vacation Bible School. Verelene raised her children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. She believed in training her children in church. Along with her, she helped raise many other. She was a strong supporter of families. She didnt mind disciplining anybodys children. And with love, she built up the same as she disciplined. One of her favorite pastimes was driving. Verelene would drive all over to help others. It didnt matter the time or the day. She was also known for her dynamic testimonies and her powerful prayer life. One of her most memorable messages was entitled, It Works! In this message he encouraged the people to continue to put your faith and trust in Jesus because His way still works. No one could leave her presence without her telling about the goodness of Jesus Christ and His saving power. She was a witness until the very end. Proceeding her in death, her parents, Raymond and Ruby Copeland; her husband, Carl Anderson Sr. and her sisters, Sarah Copeland, Deborah Yates, Rennay Lister and Helen Worley. She leave her memory to her loving and faithful children, Carl Jr. (Corrine), RayElla (Dwight) Warren, Ruby Anderson, and V. Chkwna Anderson all of Phoenix, Arizona. Two brothers, Raymond Copeland of Texas and Victor Copeland of California. One uncle James Copeland of Phoenix, Arizona. Six aunts, Anna Roberson, Savannah Lamar, Betty Brown, Ruby (Ralph) Culver. Twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one goddaughter, Bonita Gardner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins church family and friends. VISITATION : Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 11am-12pm at the Glory of Latter House Ministries in White Cloud with FUNERAL SERVICES at 12:00pm at the church. INTERMENT " Big Prairie Township Cemetery.
