Verena May Leone, age 78, of Hesperia passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Verena was born on September 27, 1942, in Muskegon to Carl Bernard and Ruth Ida (Wambaugh) Golden and married John Leone in 1965. Verena enjoyed painting, crocheting and sewing, drawing, and visiting with friends and family. Verena is survived by her sons, John Henry (Melody) Leone of Hesperia and Van (Cynthia) Leone of Hesperia; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brother, Lee (Sheri) Golden. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Leone and infant son, Wayne A. Leone. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Monday, July 19, 2021, at the Countryside Church of Christ in Hesperia with Pastor Dick Cotton officiating. There will be visitation prior to the service at the Church from 1 – 3 PM. Interment will be in East Hesperia Cemetery.
