Chapman, Vergil N. Vergil N. Chapman, age 86, of White Cloud, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2003 , at Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont . He was born on August 26, 1916 , in Paris , Michigan to Henry & Rosa (Travelbee) Chapman and married Alice Cousineau on July 15, 1939 , in Muskegon . He was a machinist at Teledyne prior to his retirement and a veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Hesperia American Legion and Bitely Brohman Community Club. He is survived by his loving wife Alice of White Cloud; daughters, Marva Gray of Lake City, Michigan and Marilyn Hutson of White Cloud; daughter-in-law Dixie Chapman of Fremont; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Roy Chapman, his mother and father, 2 sisters and a brother. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 , at the Crandell Funeral Home Chapel in White Cloud with Rev. Lucky Fulton officiating. Interment was in Whipple Cemetery .
