Vicki Jean Stansberry, age 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at her home where she lived and worked in Muskegon. Vicki was born on July 12, 1949, in Muskegon to Robert Henry and Marjorie Jane (Loper) McGruder graduated from Ravenna High School, married Curtis Assink, and later married James "Jim" Stansberry. Vicki had been a caregiver working for the State of Michigan in several institutions. Vicki lived, worked, and traveled in many places. She enjoyed cooking and crafting and was the director of the craft bazaar in Saudi Arabia. Vicki attended her daughter's church which was the Sitka United Methodist Church. Vicki is survived by her daughter, Shannon Lynn (Mac) Zerlaut of Fremont; step-daughter, Ann Philipsien and her adult children and grandchildren; step grandchildren, Eric Zerlaut and Amy Byrnes; great-grandchildren; sister, Etta L. Prell of Muskegon; step sister, Suzanne Major; and half sister, Roxanne Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert McGruder, William McGruder, and Patrick McGruder; great-grandson, Eric Zerlaut Jr., and stepdaughter Jamie Gariss.
