Victor E. Vic Pedersen Sr., age 77 of Bitely, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at his winter home in Sun City, Florida. Vic was born on December 31, 1934 in Muskegon Heights to Richard and Edna (Hansen) Pedersen and has been a lifelong resident of the area. Vic had been a firefighter with the City of Muskegon for many years until his retirement. Vic married Peggy J. Basore on November 17, 1973 in Muskegon and Peg preceded him in death on April 16, 2004. He later married his current wife, Teresa on November 10, 2007 in Fremont. Vic was currently attending the Fremont Wesleyan Church. Vic has been a lifelong member of 4H when he started at a young age and continued throughout his lifetime currently serving on the Newaygo County 4H Council. Vic truly enjoyed working with children and mentoring in various areas of 4H. Vic enjoyed riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles and was a member of the Harley Riders Group and most often traveled with his favorite dog, Boomer on his bike. Vic traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe on his bike as well. Most recently, Vic had been enjoying antique Allis Chalmers Tractors and was a member of 2 antique tractor clubs. If you knew Victor and were either introduced to him or he introduced himself to you, he considered you a friend. Victors favorite saying was Everyone wants to go to Heaven, but no one wants to die. Vic is survived by his wife, Teresa; his children, Bonnie (Pat) Rettkowski of Warden, Washington; Connie (Bruce) Zerlaut of Fremont; Peter (Kelly) Pedersen of Florida; Gary (Lora) Pedersen of Fremont; children of Peggys, Kathleen Kit (Bill) Latsch of Newaygo; Kris Knowles of Fremont; children of Teresas, Tamara Tami (friend, Kim) Holladay of Montague; Steven Hanson of Chase, Michigan; Angela (Curt) Rotter of Beverly Hills, Michigan; Ernest Peters of Boulder, Colorado; Gerald Jerry (Jessica) Peters of Fremont; his sisters, Jeanne Zandee of Grand Rapids; Karen (Art) Hauesler of Fremont; 25 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Victor E. Pederson Jr. and by his brother, Morris Pedersen. VISITATION : Monday, April 30, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 11am at the Fremont Wesleyan Church INTERMENT : Holton Lutheran Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Newaygo County 4H Council Scholarship Fund .
