Violet Ann Dunham, age 77 of Muskegon, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at the Seminole Shores Assisted Living Center in Muskegon. Violet was born on February 2, 1939 in Big Prairie Township to Percy and Beatrice (Elliott) Thumser and graduated from White Cloud High School in 1957. Violet married Robert Dunham on October 5, 1957 in White Cloud and later moved to Muskegon in 1960. Violet had been a wedding dress seamstress for Bea's Bridal Boutique in Muskegon for several years until her retirement. Violet was well known for her seamstress and sewing abilities; she enjoyed crafting and scrapbooking; baking and cooking, enjoyed giving hugs and always had a smile and helping hand to everyone she met. Violet especially enjoyed raising her family.
Violet is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert of Muskegon; her children, Teresa (Bill) Erickson of Muskegon; Deb (Steve) Heitmeier of Caledonia; Roger (Chris) Dunham of Smithfield, Virginia; her grandchildren, Brad and Angie Erickson; Melissa and Dustin Heitmeier; Carrie and Nick Dunham; her sisters, Audrey Thumser Davis of Rockford; Alice Thumser (Everett) Smith of Sparta; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Thumser Leisure.
VISITATION : Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 12-2 pm at Crandell Funeral Home 7193 W 48th Street Fremont MI 49412 with FUNERAL SERVICES at 2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home. INTERMENT : Big Prairie Township Cemetery in the Spring of 2017. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Alzheimer's Association.
