Violet "Vi" M. Eggerstedt, widow of Mike, age 87 of Fremont, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2002 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. She was born on February 21, 1914 in Wooster, Michigan to Joseph G. and Maude N. (McSorley) Hoppa and married Mike Eggerstedt on June 30, 1934 in White Cloud. Mike preceded her in death on October 8, 1993. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fremont and had owned and operated the Peaceful Acres Motel in White Cloud for many years. She is survived by her children, Marva (Keith) Ensing of Fremont; Dale (Laurel) Eggerstedt of Kansas City, Missouri; Kim (Gayle) Eggerstedt of Shawano, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother, Fred (Beatrice) Hoppa of Fremont. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cari Ensing; brothers, Clifford and Glen Hoppa. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 6, 2002 from the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fremont with interment in the White Cloud Cemetery. Friends may consider the Redeemer Lutheran Church or the Fremont Area Community Foundation Endowment Fund for Fremont Public Library or Newaygo Medical Care Facility.
