Violet E. Nadeau, age 97 of Fremont, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2008 surrounded by her loving family at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Violet was born on February 1, 1911, in Stanton, Michigan to David M. and Dora (Goodenough) Baddis. She met and later married W.J. Doug Nadeau on February 25, 1933 in Millbrook, Michigan. Doug preceded her in death on June 22, 1976. Violet moved to the Fremont area in 1942 from Edmore and had been a production worker at Gerber Products Company in Fremont for 25 years until her retirement in 1975. Violet was a loving mom, grandmother, and aunt and enjoyed making fudge and peanut brittle. Violet is survived by her children, Yvonne (Roger) King of Muskegon; Jane Ann (Arnold) Rottman of Fremont; Rex (Diana) Nadeau of Fremont; Van (Judy) Nadeau of Fremont; Vicki (Huey) Hendrix of Fremont; 103 grandchildren including 31 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; 2 special sisters-in-law, Donna Sage and Betty Morrison; many loving nieces and nephews. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. Doug Nadeau; her sons, Max Nadeau on August 24, 2004 and Gary Nadeau on December 4, 2005; 5 grandchildren; Jalayne Rottman; Keith Nadeau; Kevin Nadeau; Jack Henry Williams; Richard King; 3 brothers, Arnold Heck Baddis; Merle Bill Baddis; Gordon Baddis. VISITATION : Sunday, November 2, 2008 from 3-7 at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday, November 3, 2008 at 1pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Newaygo Medical Care Facility or NCCS Childrens Christmas Fund. INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery.
