Virginia Mae Fowler, 89, of Jenison, and formerly of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Oak Crest Assisted Living Center in Jenison. She was born on October 22, 1924 in Fremont to Andrew W. and Thirza (Ackley) Anderson and married Nelson E. Fowler on September 3, 1949 in Fremont. She had worked at Gerber Products Company until her retirement in 1950. Virginia enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Greg (Julie Lovins) Fowler of Mountain View, California, Marlene (Larry) Wolters of Jenison, and Susan Fowler of Wyoming; four grandchildren, Michael (Jodi) Gonzalez, David Fowler, Scott (Abbey) Gonzalez, and Angela Gonzalez; step-grandchildren, Carla, Karen, Randy, and Rick; many great-grandchildren; brother, Max Anderson; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 5 7 PM at Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. David Dickinson officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
