Virginia M. Hendrickson, age 89 of Holton, passed away Monday, July 08, 2013 at the HUME Home in Muskegon following a long illness. Virginia was born on April 21, 1924 in Grand Rapids to Thurman W. and Harriet M. (Hamlin) Hoover and later married Freddie Wayne Hendrickson on November 14, 1947 in Holton. Freddie preceded her in death on February 3, 1991. Virginia has been a longtime resident of the Holton area where she was a member of the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church. Virginia had worked as a surgical technician at Hackley Hospital for many years and later eventually retired from Roossinck Apple Storage at the age of 80. Virginia enjoyed her cats and dogs, collecting dolls, and had been a childcare provider in her home for many years. She was also a veteran of World War II where she was a surgical technician in Womens Army Corps and was a member of the Holton American Legion Post #397. Virginia is survived by her children, Regenia (Mark) Keller of Montague; DuWayne Hendrickson of Texas; Raymond (Heidi) Hendrickson of Holton; Renee (Robert) Hislop of Holton; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a great grandson, Jaden Crago and by her 3 sisters. VISITATION : Wednesday from 4-7pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 11am at the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church. INTERMENT and MILITARY RITES : Oakwood Cemetery in Holton.
