Obituary

Virginia M. Jackson, age 76 of White Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, June 9, 2008 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Virginia was born on April 1, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Alex and Margaret (Trombley) Lambert. She met and later married William Lawrence LaFeve Sr. in 1951 and he preceded her in death in 1974. She later met and married Andrew Jackson in August 1975 and he preceded her in death in 1986. Virginia has been a longtime resident of the White Cloud area where she and Andrew had owned and operated Penguin Acres, gas station, restaurant, and campground in Brohman in the 1970s. She was also active in the Foster Grandparents/Senior Companion Program in Newaygo County for the past 14 years and enjoyed reading, visiting with friends and collecting penguins. She was affiliated with the White Cloud United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, William L. (Joyce) LaFeve Jr. of Leslie, Michigan; Patrick F. LaFeve of Diamondale, Michigan; Jeannette E. Jarrar of Big Rapids; Margaret M. Faust of Lansing; Michael D. LaFeve of Liberal, Kansas; Judith L. LaFeve (Bryan) of Onondaga, Michigan; 23 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; her son-in-law, Larry Fredenburg of White Cloud; special friend, LeRoy Hall of Kent City; her brothers, Donald (Carolyn) Lambert of White Cloud; Henry Lambert of Edgar, Arizona; her sister, Margie Mathers of Hesperia, California; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Fredenburg; her son, Thomas LaFeve; her brother, Pete Lambert. Funeral memorial services were held on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the White Cloud United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Bowman presiding with interment in the Goodwell Township Cemetery.
