Virginia "Ginger" Mae Sutton, age 83 of Twin Lake/Lakewood Club, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the SKLD Nursing Center in Whitehall.  Ginger was born on May 10, 1940, in Reed City to James Henry and Thelma Mae (Leonard) Gilland and later married James Silas Sutton on September 12, 1958, in Bristol, Michigan.  James preceded her in death on December 31, 2015.  Ginger has been a resident of the Twin Lake area for the past 60 years where she had been a homemaker.  Ginger enjoyed camping, going to yard sales, visiting with family and friends, spending time with her grandchildren, and taking walks.

Ginger is survived by her children, Sherri (Arthur) Sokolowski of Montague; James (Marcy) Sutton of Twin Lake; Crindia Sokolowski of Walkerville; Steven Sutton of Twin Lake; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  Ginger was preceded in death by her husband, James Silas; her son, Russell Sutton; her grandson, Josiah "JoJo" Steven Sutton; her great grandson, Josiah Steven Sutton; her son-in-law, Lewis Sokolowski; her sisters and brothers, Maryanne Moses, Leonard Gilland, Willard Gilland, Dick Gilland, Russell Gilland, Melvin Gilland, Bob Gilland.
